Republican political novice Bob Turner defeated Democrat state Assemblyman, David Weprin yesterday in the special election to replace Anthony Weiner.
Weiner resigned his seat after finally admitting to a sexting scandal.
Is this a Rebuke on Obama’s policies?
I’d say yes, since this is a highly democratic district which spans parts of Queens and Brooklyn, never sending a Republican to the House.
Turner stated that he hopes the white house hears the people of his district shouting that we are on the wrong track.
Turnier has repeatedly vowed to bring a business sense into Washington and push back on spending and taxes.
Will Obama Listen?
Only time will tell. Unfortunately, time is not on our side, with every passing day the debt pile getting higher.
Obama is pushing his new “jobs” policy at a tune of almost a 1/2 billion dollars, charging the bill to small businesses, and those making over $250,000. Of course, the payment is over a period of time, adding to the deficit.
What we need to true tax reform to close all loop holes for everyone, and not just the rich. Rather than just patching the system, it should have a complete and substantial overhaul.
Bring back the trillon or so dollars from overseas, with no tax, as long as the a substantial amount of the funds goes back into corporate reinvestment and creating jobs. You won’t hear Obama talk about this.
Perhaps one more Republican voice can add the the rest and we can inch along
getting some true reform done, and create a true job creating environmnent
that doesn’t add to our deficit.
