Jorge Luis Borges would be celebrating his 112th birthday. We have all grown to love the Google Doodle and anticipate those wonderful pieces of creativity from Borges.

Born in Argentina, Jorge Luis Borges became a writer, poet, and philosopher. He and his family moved to Switzerland in 1914, where Borges learned several different languages.

The Google Doodle is a complex scene that are images from a short story “The Garden of Forking Paths” which Borges looks at the future from many different angles.

Jorge Luis Borges – Past Writer

Although not considered a sci-fi writer, Borges has contributed much to the science
fiction realm. He’s well know for his writings on dreams, labyrinths, libraries, animals,
fictional writers, religion and God. Two of his most famous works are the “Ficciones” and
“The Aleph”.

Borges died in Geneva, Switzerland in June of 1986.

Other Well know favorites of  Google for doodling are Hans Christian Anderse flipbook logo, and Roger Hargreaves’ 16 different colorful cartoons. Jorge Luis Borges, although missed, the tradition carries on.
