Cardiac Science Corp intends to replace or repair 24,000 external defibrillators in the US currently used by hospitals, police, ambulance services and others.
The recall is due to the inability of the external defibrillator to deliver therapy when resuscitating a victim. The
US FDA cautioned about the use of dozens of types of Cardiac Science Corp defibrillators in April, 2010.
Shares of Cardiac Science have fallen 36.6% since March 19, 2010.
